Stop the Boardwalk Action Group

To abandon plans to construct a boardwalk on the coastal dune reserve between Scarborough and Trigg Beaches.

Why is this important?

The dune reserve is about 1 km long and stretches from the ocean to the West Coast Highway, it consists of sand dunes and swales with original vegetation, it is a Class A Reserve and a Bush Forever site. It is part of the Trigg Bushland Reserve and is an example of how the coast looked before white settlement, it provides a habitat for birds, reptiles and insects. The construction of a static structure such as a boardwalk is incompatible with the conservation of this fragile dune system.
