NO MidCoast Council MOVE TO MASTERS

Dear MidCoast Councillors,

Please stop the proposed Centralisation of 340 Admin staff relocating to the ex Masters Warehouse ‘Big Tin Shed’. The independent financial assessment of $40m + demonstrated the project is high risk and not in the best interests of the community. The community is opposed to the project, having had no reasonable community consultation and engagement. The Council has handled this matter in an underhand and secretive way with redacted reports and ‘in confidence’ excuses. As the major stakeholder the community demands an INDEPENDENT REVIEW of the ENTIRE project (from purchase).

Why is this important?

* The Centralisation to the Masters warehouse will exceed $40m - representing generational debt over 20yrs.
* The community has not been reasonable consulted or engaged.
* The community does not see an ‘ivory tower’ for Council as an infrastructure priority.

Reasons for signing

  • This area had the opportunity for industry to occupy this building which would increase employment & spending in our towns but council knocked it back. Whats that all about. Also what happened to the proposed truck stop at Cundletown?
  • Waste of money. Wingham roads are a joke. I call them miscarriage lanes. It's not fair to the wonderful community of Wingham and there is much more can be done for our town and community. Taree counsel stop and listen.
  • disgraceful waste of money!
