6 months in solitary confinement for having a beer in the pub with my fiancé...in Australia!!??

Immediately repeal the Queensland Bikie laws and drop the charges against Sally Kuether and other innocent hard working Queenslanders.

Hi everyone, my name is Sally Kuether. I am a mother of 3 beautiful children and have been in a job for over 20 years.

I just wanted to share my thoughts today on the Queensland Bikie laws as I don't believe this is what being an Australian is about. I think everday Australians would be horrified as to what I've been through.

In 2011 I was presented with a community service award for my efforts during the flood clean-up. The Lord Mayor at the time was Campbell Newman.

Now, under the Newman government's 'anti-association laws' I am accused of breaching the law by having a beer with my fiance and another person at the Dayboro Hotel. In doing so it is alleged that I was 'knowingly in a public place as a participant in a Criminal Organisation'.

Why is this important?

I am an ordinary person in the community who has been affected by these laws. I myself spent six days in custody before getting bail after being charged. I am now facing 6 months to 3 years in solitary confinement. I can't tell you how overwhelming this is, as I have no criminal record and have never been in this situation, or any situation like this, before.
I hope this High Court challenge will be quickly resolved so that I can go back to my normal life, being with my children, my fiance, my friends and the community. I am Australian and don't feel very proud at the moment given the uncertainty surrounding these laws. I have no criminal record, a mother of three amazing children and a productive member of society.

We had a court hearing last Thursday 10th April and it has been adjourned until August 21st or pending the outcome of the high court challenge.

My life has changed in so many regards. I am being hidden away from the public at my work, I can't attend rally's in fear of there being someone else from an alleged 'Criminal Organisation' and i feel hesitant to even go out anywhere.

What would you think if this happened to your mother, sister, brother, or children?

Please sign this petition and spread the word. Together, we can make a stand and show Campbell Newman that Australians do not support these destructive laws.

Thank You

Sally
