Child Sexual Abuse in childhood results in sustained psychological trauma that lasts a life time, hindering the quality of life for not just the survivor but families as well. This includes periods of various severities of PTSD, depression and anxiety as well as other mental health issues. This means that survivors may not be able to maintain consistent personal relationships as well as "normal" career and work goals. Recovery from childhood abuse requires specialist health services for mental, emotional and physical care. Child Sexual Abuse causes profound psychological damage to the development of an individual and as such, can take a lifetime to be healed.

Australia's CSG industry is a threat to our land, our water and our climate. The rapid expansion of CSG in Australia has been marred by insufficient, unsatisfactory environmental assessment, putting our environment at risk. Despite intense media scrutiny, government has failed to intervene. Not even a damning Four Corners report on the environmental assessment of two of Australia's biggest CSG projects was enough to prompt adequate action. Without Government protection, giant CSG companies will continue to threaten our communities and farmers' rights over their own land. People are banding together to provide the vital resistance government is failing to deliver. In communities across Australia, people are doing everything they can to protect their water, their land and and their livelihoods. We need to bring these communities together to form a national movement and demand real action be taken. To effect the change Australia desperately needs, we need to bring communities together and pressure government for real, legislative change.

The Australian community has lost faith in the regulatory bodies that oversee animal welfare arrangements, particularly those that relate to "production animals". Community members like myself do not believe that departments of agriculture are the appropriate bodies to oversee animal welfare regulation. We believe there is an urgent need to establish an Independent Office of Animal Welfare, to lead animal welfare policy and standards development and focus on animal welfare science and law. It is in the public interest to take this opportunity to improve animal welfare arrangements, and to establish the Independent Office that has already been promised to the Australian community.

This advocacy and advice, welfare legal service is vital to low income earners on Centrelink who desperately need advice and advocacy regarding overpayments, debts, wrongful decisions that Centrelink makes and also challenges legislation passed through Federal Government that adversely affects people on Centrelink benefits. The Centre also provides the voice of many thousands of struggling people to the media based on a case by case advocacy service with real stories of hardship to back them up.

There are native animals and birds using the site as a habitat. The site is in a highly protected area and the Mornington Peninsula Shire was supposed to oversee the conversion of the site to a lake, lagoons, wetlands, walking tracks and picnic areas for the residents of the Peninsula. There is obviously a massive need for more registered nurses in the healthcare system that is under an overwhelming strain. More nurses may return to their profession if given an opportunity. It does not make sense that 10 years should be a magic timeframe that you suddenly have no ability to perform your duties. If you can pass the re-entry program then surely that should enough to satisfy the Nurses board that they are safe to practise.

Australian Unity (AU) and Lane Cove Council (LCC) plan to build a 7 storey 160 unit seniors and aged care complex on public recreation play fields at 266 Longueville rd, Lane Cove. The AU proposal is grossly incompatible in height, bulk, scale and built form with the well-established surrounding residences and the Development Control Plan for the site. The idea to build units on recreation play fields has been strongly opposed by the public. However, LCC has a $34 M interest by a 99yr lease to AU and is seen to enable maximising profits, instead of performing its usual role of protecting the surrounding Environment conservation zone and 46 families that surround the property. It shut down the Commissioner Eric Armstrong Public Hearing, when the commissioner deferred his decision pending an assessment by LCC to ensure the land is not required for future recreational needs. It then removed the “Bush Fire Prone” zoning of the land, to remove asset protection zones and increase foot print. It supported the development exceeding the councils own LEP height restriction and destruction of trees in the Environment conservation zone passing through the property. The clause removed, was formulated by the SNPP themselves. Therefore it is fully aware of what is required for compatibility. It restricts 5 levels overlooking the Golf course and re-states the height restriction and built form on the LEP to ensure no height differential with the low density residences 12m away. The amenity of the golf course and 46 residences with boundaries to these play fields are severely affected by the incompatible and uncontrolled profit maximisation of this over development.
